This tour offers a unique opportunity for those who want to explore Antalya's rich cultural history. You will feel like you are traveling back in time while visiting Perge, Aspendos and Side, three of the best preserved ancient cities of Anatolia. At the end of the tour, you will take great photos by cooling off at Kurşunlu Waterfall, where we will go.
Our tour starts with our visit to the ancient city of Perge, the largest city of Pamphylia, which was the cultural and commercial center of the Southern region of Anatolia in ancient times. When visiting Perge which is one of the most organized cities of Anatolia, structures such as theatre, stadium, city wall ruins, high towers, Roman bath, streets decorated with marble columns, agora will give us an idea of the life of people living in ancient times. The sculptures unearthed in the excavations in the city, which is famous for its architecture and marble sculpture, have made the Antalya Museum one of the most important sculpture museums. Perge is also important for Christianity. One of the most important figures of Christianity, St. Paul arrived in Perge during his missionary travels via the Aksu River. Because it is written in the Bible, the city and the river are considered as one of the holy places of Christianity.
After our visit to Perge, we turn our direction to Aspendos. Aspendos, which was founded by the Achaeans in the 10th century B.C. is one of the richest cities of the ancient period. It was one of the first cities in the region to mint coins in its own name. The most striking building in Aspendos is undoubtedly the well-preserved theater with a capacity of approximately 15,000 people. Aspendos Theater, which is a remarkable example of Roman theaters and was built using architectural features and construction techniques that are rarely seen today, was built during the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius (161–180 AD). The theater, whose acoustics is magnificent, is still used for concerts and performances today.
We take a lunch break after visiting Aspendos. After lunch, we go to Side, the richest and most important port city of Pamphylia in ancient times. After getting off the vehicle, we walk through the ancient city ruins and reach the Temple of Apollo, famous for its architectural beauty and an important symbol of Roman peace. After photographing this beautiful temple by the sea, named after the Greek god of light, beauty and art, Apollo, we wander around the Side bazaar and return to our vehicles.
Leaving Side, after an hour's journey, we arrive at Kurşunlu Waterfall, which is the last stop of our tour. The waterfall, which is a natural beauty, was turned into a nature park in 1986 and flows from a height of 18 meters.
After our visit to the waterfall, the tour ends with you being dropped off at your hotel.
